Ruth was touched deeply by her journey into the wilderness. Every rock wall she climbed or tent she pitched instilled a new self-sufficiency and a profound love of nature. At night under the stars with the campfire ablaze, she assessed the day’s accomplishments of canoeing solo or pushing her team to trek across one more portage. This balance of self-reliance while looking out for the group’s best interests became a philosophy that she holds dear to this day.

Since that odyssey, Ruth worked along side her husband to launch a corporate experiential training firm that teaches clients about team building and leadership to create successful outcomes. The same skills and values that Ruth learned in the wilderness were taught to CEOs and managers, whose work lives have also been transformed by these experiences. More importantly, Ruth began sharing her passion for camping and canoeing with her three daughters, who are also getting life lessons about strategy and carving out a path to success.
